The main position open in the Merchant Navy are Navigating / Deck  Officers, Marine Engineers and GP Ratings for both Deck / Navigating and Engine Department.

 

In Merchant Navy , major tasks performed are under three basic Departments. those are The Deck Department, The Engine Department and Saloon/Catering Department.There are thus, many career options that are available for youngsters who have dreams to join the Merchant Navy. The Deck department having Deck/Navigating Officers include the Captain, Chief Officer, Second Officer, Third Officer and Deck Cadet. The Engine Department having Chief Engineer, Second Engineer, Third Engineer, Fourth Engineer, Electrical Officer and Junior Engineer/Engine Cadet. The Saloon Department manages Kitchen, Laundry and other services.Lot of jobs are available with Shipping Companies in India and Other Countries.
